About Me

A South-African born photographer, Mia has been photographing since the age of 11. Her love for dogs started at an early age. Since then she has photographed pooches of A-list celebrities, dogs rescued by the RSPCA, the Dogs Trust, Much Love Animal Rescue and the Retired Greyhound Trust. Mia has photographed the following celebrities and their dogs including Elizabeth Hurley, Simon Pegg, Jamiroquai, Julian McMahon, Annie Wersching, Roland Rivron and Perez Hilton.

Mia Feinstein’s photographic material ranges from travel, landscapes to people and marmite. Her particular affinity, however, has always been photographing animals, especially dogs, as her photographic collection is shown in her books “Andy Warhound Pup Art” and “Pooches in Shades”. “Andy Warhound Pup Art”, inspired by And Warhol’s Pop Art is a collection of photographic imagery of dogs that have been transformed into bold and brilliant shapes, lines and colours to create an altogether stunning array of pieces. She has another book called ‘Pooches in Shades”. Glamorous, chic and evocative of Hollywood in the 1950’s, these dogs are cool pooches indeed, and take on a rather ambiguous identity when paired with sunglasses. Snapped by Mia, that pair of sunglasses and that dog will never ever be the same again. Her third book “Cape Town Up Close and Personal” was published by Random House Struik in South Africa, October 2011.
